We run nine pottery, and two sculpture classes per week. Our experienced tutors provide tuition in a relaxed, supportive and welcoming environment, where fun and laughter often thrives!
The pottery classes last for three hours and the sculpture classes two and a half hours. Terms last for 12 weeks, three per year, coinciding with the academic calendar. For more details see the class schedule.
Classes are limited to a maximum of 14 people, all ages and abilities welcome. There are large work tables and plenty of wheels, and space to work comfortably.
Facilities include disabled access, free parking, and a café and farm shop on site.
Equipment
Electric and Leach kick wheels, facilities for hand-building, a wide range of glazes and a spray booth. We have an electric kiln mainly used for biscuit firing plus occasional earthenware firings, and a gas kiln for firing reduced stoneware. We also have raku kilns that are regularly used by members.
Both electric and gas kilns are fired regularly to ensure a continual circulation of member’s work. In good weather there are opportunities to do outdoor firings such as ‘Raku’.
