‘Another Brick in the Wall’

“Another brick in the wall” is a community project by West Street Potter member Kep Nowson. Raw bricks have been changed through prodding, eroding, scraping, hollowing, carving and adding carved out clay to design. The bricks have been bisque-fired and are now displayed within the shop front of The Herald Shop in the Lion & Lamb courtyard in Farnham town from 1st October – 8th November 2020.

The traditional bricks have been reimagined and recarved from all members of the community, from artists, crafts people and students, to local schools, care homes and shops.

The project is to symbolise the importance of the production of bricks in Farnham, a town that is steeped in Craft history and also in celebration of Farnham having been awarded the “World Craft City” status.

Many WSP members took part in the project, so I am sure you will enjoy going along to see if you can find your brick!
