The Joy of Making

Over the half term weekend generous WSP members spent time in the workshop talking to visitors about their work and sharing their skills. The range and variety of skills absorbed the appreciative number of people who found their way to the Pottery. Children impressed their names in slices of clay and expanded them on the table top clay roller…not sure whether to be dismayed or delighted to see their names squashed and distended.

From the feedback it was a valuable weekend for all who attended. It would have been lovely to welcome more visitors, it’s a shame the promotion didn’t reach more people this year. We certainly had a good team of volunteers eager to share the warm and welcoming atmosphere…the Joy of Making (certainly an appropriate title) filled the building…despite the open windows!

An exhibition of work made by the volunteers is displayed in the glass cabinet.
