Tile project for wood burning stove
WSP Lisa Ingram from Julia’s Tuesday class has kindly shared some photos of the tiles she made in class to put behind a new wood-firing stove in her kitchen.
All the plaster behind the stove had begun to crack and peel off because of the heat from the fire, so they dug into the wall behind, put some backer board in the space and tiled onto that, so the tiles are flush with the wall.
Lisa used the turquoise and green earthenware glazes on stoneware clay, fired to earthenware temperature, and quite understandably is quite pleased with the result!
If anyone else has a project that they would like to share with this community, please do send them to me I and I will happily post them on our website.
